Scaffold Column | A Detailed Explanation of the Difference Between Allowable Load Capacity and Maximum Load Capacity

[Report Presentation] It is important to distinguish between the allowable load capacity and the maximum load capacity, as they have different meanings even with the same load. 2023/6/2

To safely perform work at heights, it is important to use scaffolding correctly. Scaffolding at construction sites must comply with the standards set forth in the Occupational Safety and Health Act. The standards established by the Occupational Safety and Health Act include the structure of the scaffolding and fall prevention measures. One particularly important aspect is adhering to the maximum load capacity of the assembled scaffolding. Using scaffolding in a way that exceeds the maximum load capacity can lead to its collapse. Therefore, employers need to ensure that workers are aware of the maximum load capacity of the scaffolding. There are permissible load capacity and maximum load capacity for scaffolding. These loads have different meanings even if they are the same weight, so it is important to distinguish between them. In this article, we will explain the differences between permissible load capacity and maximum load capacity of scaffolding. *For more details, please download the PDF document.*
