Aitec's "Nitriding Hardening" is a surface hardening heat treatment method that allows nitrogen to penetrate and diffuse into steel, followed by quenching from the austenite state, resulting in low distortion and unique properties. This heat treatment method involves the infiltration and solid solution of nitrogen into steel in the austenite region (γ) of the Fe-N2 phase diagram. It is then rapidly cooled to produce hard nitrogen martensite. Unlike conventional "carburizing hardening," this process uses ammonia for quenching, resulting in zero CO2 emissions during the treatment process!
