Paralink combined with low-improvement DMM method.

Suppress overall deformation of the fill soil and achieve cost reduction with a low improvement rate! Examples of construction are also introduced with photos.

The "Low Improvement DMM Method" is a construction technique that places improved columns across the entire width in the transverse direction, which can suppress overall deformation of the embankment and allows for cost reduction by using a low improvement rate (by widening the spacing of the improved columns). When ground improvement is carried out at a low improvement rate, issues such as differential settlement between the improved and unimproved areas may arise, necessitating surface treatment as a countermeasure. For surface treatment, geosynthetics (Paralink) installation and shallow improvement methods are effective. [Selection of Geosynthetic (Paralink) Standards] ■ Determination of target differential settlement amount ■ -1 Calculation of proportional coefficient α ■ -2 Determination of tensile rigidity EA ■ Confirmation of tensile strength ■ Determination of required part numbers *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Paralink combined with shallow improvement methods.

It is possible to suppress shallow layer improvement strength and prevent cracks! Examples of construction are also introduced with photos.

When the safety factor for sliding of unreinforced fill is Fs < 1.0, it is possible to achieve Fs ≈ 1.0 using shallow improvement methods, and by supplementing the insufficient restraining force with para-links, the strength of the shallow improvement can be controlled, allowing for a reduction in overall costs. Additionally, by laying para-links beneath the shallow improvement body, it is also possible to prevent cracks that may occur in the shallow improvement body. 【Construction Procedure】 ■ Excavation: Improves workability by using slopes (heavy machinery can operate) ■ Installation of reinforcement materials: Also improves trafficability ■ Mixing, spreading, and compacting of improvement materials *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Combination with the Paralink Drainage Method

Improvement of safety rates and cost reduction are also possible! Construction examples are also introduced with photos.

When the drainage method alone does not meet the required safety factor, combining it with Paralink can improve the safety factor. Additionally, when a denser drainage pitch (≤1.0m) is necessary, using Paralink in conjunction allows for widening the pitch, which can also reduce costs. 【Construction Example】 ■ Japan Highway Public Corporation Kisarazu Construction Office, Tateyama Expressway, Kimitsu IC Construction *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
