All three models of the inertial measurement unit (IMU) have the capability to directly measure acceleration, angular velocity, delta theta, and delta velocity. Navsight's internal extended Kalman filter fuses real-time data from inertial sensors, GPS/GNSS, and odometers (land-based) to achieve robust enhanced positioning and orientation measurements even in harsh environments where GNSS signals are difficult to receive (such as in urban canyons or tunnels). The maximum output rate is 225Hz, capable of simultaneously outputting 3-axis acceleration (accelerometer) data at 225Hz, 3-axis angular velocity (gyroscope) data at 225Hz, and 3-axis magnetic field (compass) data at 75Hz, with no pre-calibration required. It is compatible with ROS, and is expected to be utilized in scientific research and prototype verification for electronic machinery such as robots, where low latency is essential.
