AGC's solar power generation glass: Introduction of adoption cases as a symbol of decarbonization.

Introducing a case study of Sanjule, which balances a design inspired by trees with the use of renewable energy, implemented in the canopy section.

AGC's solar power generation glass "Sunjoule" has been adopted for the entrance canopy of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology's Zero Emission International Collaborative Research Center. The Zero Emission International Collaborative Research Center was established in January 2020 at the Tsukuba Center West Office of AIST, and conducts research in collaboration with some of the world's leading national research institutions to create innovative environmental innovations aimed at realizing a zero-emission society. The entrance canopy of the center is designed as a "Zero Emission Tree," a symbol of a decarbonized society, inspired by the lush trees on the premises that tell the story of AIST's history. The installed Sunjoule has a power generation capacity of 6.9 kW, equivalent to the entrance lighting power inside the building, and its arrangement of cells mimicking leaves creates a dappled sunlight effect.
