Mazda Case Study on the Introduction of Vibration and Noise Analysis Software 'VA One'

Creating a Quiet Car! Introducing Examples of Utilizing Simulations for Noise Control Measures.

Mazda Corporation's NVH Performance Development Department is a division that analyzes sound and vibration, working on the realization and improvement of acoustics, vibration, and ride comfort. In our department, we use 'VA One' to evaluate the noise reduction effects of interior materials in their installed state. By changing parameters such as the arrangement, quantity, and material (sound absorption capacity) of sound-absorbing materials, we can evaluate the noise reduction effects of these materials based on the in-vehicle noise levels through simulation. This analysis employs a computational method called SEA, which not only offers fast computation speeds but also allows for the understanding of power transmission paths from external inputs, making it useful when considering the arrangement of sound-absorbing materials. 【Benefits of Implementation】 ■ Fast computation speed ■ Ability to understand power transmission paths from external inputs ■ Effective when considering the arrangement of sound-absorbing materials ■ Contributes to achieving maximum sound absorption effects *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Thermal fluid analysis software "e-flowDX"

Simulation program for moving boundary problems and free surface problems.

◆Moving Boundary Problem: It is possible to move multiple objects independently and arbitrarily. The analysis of moving boundary problems, such as the movement of complex objects, opening and closing doors, and rotating machinery, which was essentially impossible with non-structural grids, can now be easily performed. It is also possible to feedback the fluid forces acting on the objects into their motion. ● Changes in degrees of freedom such as axial movement and rotation around each coordinate axis can be achieved through simple motion definitions. ● Analysis is possible not only for solid structures with volume but also for thin-walled (shell) structures without thickness. ● Various conditions can be assigned to moving objects, such as heat transfer and mass transfer boundaries, as well as free surface flows. ● The situation of time-varying flow fields can be animated along with the movement of the moving objects for detailed examination. ◆ e-flowDX Tsunami Load Analysis Version In response to the unprecedented damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the resulting tsunami, the need for simulations that were not included in previous settings has arisen. Specifically, the evaluation of tsunami loads with wave heights of 10 to 20 meters and the assessment of tsunami loads on groups of buildings are now considered essential and urgent for the design of facilities built along the coast, not limited to evacuation buildings, as well as for urban planning.

Station Building Thermal Environment [Case Study]

Introduction of a case study aimed at understanding the thermal environment in the concourse and corridors of the station building!

[Purpose of Analysis] This is an analysis case aimed at understanding the thermal environment in areas where people move, such as concourses and corridors, during the construction of a train station building. Due to the influence of the arrangement of windows in the station building and the solar radiation transmitted through those windows, as well as the fluctuation in the number of people staying inside the station at different times, the thermal environment varies by time. Therefore, it is currently difficult to grasp the thermal environment during the basic design phase of the station building. In this analysis case, we modeled a hypothetical train station in a regional city during the summer at 4 PM using WindPerfectDX. We considered the solar radiation load transmitted and absorbed by the fixed windows on the west side of the concourse, the heat load from human bodies and lighting, and the infiltration load from the roof and walls, with the aim of understanding the thermal environment in the concourse and corridors of the station building.

Wholesale Market Ventilation Analysis

We conducted a natural ventilation analysis of building clusters in the presence of external wind.

The ventilation analysis of wholesale markets involved the natural ventilation analysis of building complexes in the presence of external winds. In recent years, advancements in numerical computation techniques for thermal environment analysis have made it possible to conduct analyses with over a million meshes even on personal computer bases, allowing for detailed construction of building structures. If the detailed structure of the building can be represented, it becomes possible to directly evaluate the state of wind circulation by simultaneously solving the thermal and flow fields of the internal and external spaces. Electromagnetic Field/Electromagnetic Environment Analysis Software PHOTO-Series

Realistic electromagnetic field analysis can be achieved at a low cost! It is also possible to customize by selecting the necessary features.

The "PHOTO series" offers analysis solvers that utilize the most suitable simulation methods for each broad area, ranging from high-frequency electromagnetic waves to low-frequency electric and magnetic fields, according to the analysis theme. Unlike other commercial software packages that handle all phenomena with a single analysis solver, we use the most appropriate analysis solver for the purpose, resulting in high analysis accuracy and detailed responsiveness to needs. Additionally, since you can select only the necessary modules suitable for the problem, the implementation costs can be kept economical. Functionality can also be easily expanded by adding modules, and by combining them, it is possible to handle coupled analyses such as heat generation due to eddy currents and stress or deformation due to electromagnetic forces. All products support three-dimensional problems, and the transient response analysis module can handle nonlinear materials.

[Analysis Case] Effect of Magnetic Sheet of RFID Card Using External Field Function

What changes occur in the electromotive force when a magnetic sheet is attached?

If metal is installed near an RFID card, the electromotive force generated in the card's circuit by the external primary coil is significantly reduced due to the demagnetizing effect from the metal. To suppress this demagnetizing effect, we analyzed the changes in electromotive force when a magnetic sheet is attached to the card's surface using Photo-Eddyjω. For more details, please download the catalog.

[Case Study] Eddy Current Testing Using an External Field Method (Non-Destructive Testing)

We conducted "eddy current testing" analysis to detect surface defects on the conductor plate.

The eddy current testing (non-destructive testing) using the external field method has a significant analytical symmetry divided into the conductor plate and the probe. The probe consists of two types of coils: an excitation coil and a differential detection coil. We calculated the eddy current distribution when a current with a frequency of 500 Hz was applied to the excitation coil of the probe, as well as the induced electromotive force in the differential detection coil. [Analysis Case] Analysis Case of Hinge-Type Electromagnetic Relay

The subject of analysis is a hinge-type electromagnetic relay switch.

The analysis case of hinge-type electromagnetic relays requires mesh division of space in the finite element method. Therefore, handling the motion of objects in the finite element method has been considered a very difficult category of analysis, as it necessitates the manipulation of meshes, including spatial meshes. In the PHOTO-Series, we have newly developed a unique analysis function that automatically deforms the spatial mesh into an optimal shape according to the motion of the object, thus solving this problem. [Analysis Case] Cogging Torque Analysis of Claw Pole Motors

The subject of analysis is a claw pole motor.

The claw pole motor is divided into the rotor part and the stator part, each having a structure as shown in the figure. By incorporating the magnetization of the permanent magnet obtained through pre-magnetization analysis, the rotor is rotated in an unloaded state to perform torque analysis. Although this is an analysis involving rotation, it can be conducted without regenerating the air mesh of the gap (the space between the rotor and stator) using PHOTON's uniquely developed new slide interface.
