【Facility Introduction】 The Shirakami-Sanchi is a vast mountainous area spanning Akita and Aomori Prefectures, home to one of the largest primeval beech forests in the world, which supports a diverse range of flora and fauna, thus maintaining a precious ecosystem. It was registered as a World Heritage Site (natural heritage) in December 1993.
