Here is a case study of the introduction of 16 lightweight medium-duty boltless steel racks. We installed "boltless" racks that can be assembled without using a single bolt. This reduces assembly time to about one-third, and changing the position of the shelves can be done in just about one minute. Additionally, we implemented a tip-over prevention measure using "tension rods" provided by the customer. By tensioning between the rack and the ceiling, we can prevent tipping due to earthquakes or collisions. We would like to introduce a case where three medium-duty steel racks were purchased. In this instance, we installed "anti-tipping bases" to prevent tipping due to earthquakes and collisions, according to the customer's request. Initially, we proposed a method of securing the racks by driving anchor bolts into the floor or wall, but unfortunately, the customer could not drill holes in the floor or wall. Therefore, we suggested the "anti-tipping base," one of the optional products we offer. The anti-tipping base can be easily installed on the legs of commercial steel racks without welding, allowing for anti-tipping measures without damaging the floor. This is a standard option that has received positive feedback from many customers. The installed angle shelves are 1800mm in height. Such tall steel racks inherently carry a risk of tipping over due to their structure. To mitigate this risk, we utilized cable ties, which are often used as wiring materials to bundle multiple cables, to group several units together for installation. This helps minimize the risk of tipping due to earthquakes or collisions. In this instance, five steel racks were purchased, and each was installed as either a two-unit or three-unit connection. By connecting three units side by side, we were able to reduce the number of support posts to eight, which not only decreases the amount of materials used but also lightens the overall weight of the structure and keeps costs down. Additionally, as a measure to prevent tipping due to earthquakes and other factors, we secured the racks to the floor with anchors, further enhancing the robustness of our already sturdy commercial steel racks.
