A 3D laser scanner is a high-speed measurement device that collects data at a rate of tens of thousands of points per second over a full 360° range around a machine. It measures distances by sending laser light back and forth between the scanner and the object without making direct contact, obtaining three-dimensional coordinate values based on the angles and distances of the emitted light. The data collected by the laser scanner is imported into specialized software, where the coordinate data is represented as points (dots) on a PC screen. The collection of measurement points is referred to as point cloud data. Since point cloud data is represented in three-dimensional positions, it allows for the verification of location information on a computer screen. Measurement of horizontal displacement of the mountain retaining wall.

The installation interval for embedded inclinometers is 2 meters, while the measurement interval for insertion-type inclinometers is based on 1 meter!

The measurement of horizontal displacement of retaining walls is usually conducted by comparing it with the management standard values set from the design values, in order to manage the safety of the retaining walls. The measurement methods include automatic measurement using embedded inclinometers and manual measurement using inserted inclinometers. In both cases, guide pipes (steel square pipes 75mm x 75mm) are installed on the retaining wall, but the embedded inclinometers are buried after the installation of the retaining wall. For both measurements, the obtained measurement values (inclination angles) are multiplied by distance to convert them into horizontal displacement amounts, and by cumulatively adding from the bottom end of the retaining wall upwards, the overall deformation (distribution) is determined. Our company generally sets the installation interval for embedded inclinometers at 2 meters and the measurement interval for inserted inclinometers at 1 meter.
