This fixture is characterized by its structure that allows simultaneous processing of two workpieces using a two-axis parallel drill, emphasizing machining efficiency. Therefore, even if there is a thickness variation of up to 1.5mm between the two workpieces (the white and blue plates in the photo), it is designed to ensure that they are chucked evenly and securely with four claws. At Takimoto Giken Kogyo, we have manufactured "pallet jigs" using MC nylon and POM through cutting processing and assembly. ~Points~ MC nylon (monomer cast nylon) is commonly used in areas requiring mechanical strength (impact resistance), and the material itself is readily available, making it versatile. In this case, the base was made of POM for color differentiation. We measure the pallet size and work size, checking for interference and accuracy rather than relying on physical matching. There are various shapes of pallets for industrial machinery related to the automotive industry, but our company handles everything from lathe processing to machining and assembly, bringing us closer to our customers' requests. What the customer requested was our in-house jig. Unfortunately, the product had been used for many years, resulting in peeling paint and advancing rust. This jig was old, and there were no existing drawings, so new production would require time and budget. Therefore, we only performed modifications and repairs on the necessary parts, along with repainting. First, we removed the paint and rust using blasting (Type 1 surface preparation) and conducted surface treatment. After that, we applied a primer and topcoat, completing the product. This product measures 1500×1500 L=2500, and we used grid blasting, performing surface preparation according to SSPC SP-10. Additionally, we applied one coat of epoxy-modified alkyd resin primer and one coat of synthetic resin blended paint for the topcoat. The repair and modification took only four days. It took a bit longer due to the need to differentiate the painting of the main frame and the handrails and ladder, but we were able to accommodate the short delivery time. We would like to introduce the achievements regarding the development of dedicated inspection jigs for a machinery manufacturer, which led to improved quality. At this manufacturer, dimensions at specified locations in the drawings were measured during part inspections, using accepted products; however, there were frequent defects.
