Obtained construction technology examination certification" Non-welded brace reinforcement "Smart Attach Method

The Smart Attach method is a non-welding, short-term bracing reinforcement method that replaces traditional seismic reinforcement.

★Acquisition of Construction Technology Examination Certification★ On December 2, 2019, we obtained the "Construction Technology Examination Certification (Building Technology)" from the Japan Architecture Center (BCJ - Examination Certification - 259). The Smart Attach Method is a non-welded joint method for brace reinforcement ends in seismic retrofitting of steel structures. It uses uniquely shaped SA hardware, SA plates, and high-strength bolts to connect to existing structures (H-shaped cross-section columns and beams). Feature 1: No on-site welding required Reduces fire risk. Minimizes fire protection measures. Feature 2: Construction can be done while occupied Simplifies construction through bolt connections. Can be installed without the need for large scaffolding, allowing brace reinforcement work to be carried out while the building is in use. Feature 3: No need to drill bolt holes in the flange Since drilling bolt holes in the flange is unnecessary, there is no cross-section loss in the flange, resulting in minimal reduction in the cross-sectional performance of H-shaped materials. Feature 4: Reduction in work hours and shortening of construction period Contributes to reducing work hours and shortening the construction period through reduced fire protection measures due to non-welding, minimized changes in manufacturing lines and equipment, and enabling construction while occupied.

Low rigidity column bases, PIN base method, suitable for the column bases of low-rise buildings.

It is suitable as a column base for low-rise buildings such as single-story and two-story structures. Since the foundation shape can be simplified, it reduces the total cost compared to conventional pinned column bases!

The "PIN Base Method," which has been improved to reduce rotational stiffness compared to conventional pin column bases and bring it closer to a PIN joint, aims to enhance design flexibility and constructability. Due to its low stiffness, the PIN Base Method is suitable for the column bases of low-rise buildings such as single-story and two-story structures. By simplifying the foundation shape, it leads to a reduction in total costs compared to conventional pin column bases. 【Features】 ■ Reduces stiffness to about 1/10 of that of conventional pin column bases - By providing slits, the PIN plate is made easier to deform, achieving lower stiffness than conventional pin column bases. - By eliminating the backfill mortar, it becomes possible to reduce stiffness compared to conventional pin column bases. ⇒ Because of the low stiffness, it is possible to reduce the size and amount of rebar in the foundation. ■ Allows for shallower excavation The PIN Base Method significantly shortens the anchorage length of anchor bolts to 13.3d (minimum value 400mm). ■ Obtained evaluation from the Japan Building Center ■ Standardizes foundation column shapes - The PIN Base Method standardizes foundation column shapes for each type, eliminating the need for separate design.
