Vehicle design optimization utilizing black box optimization.
It is possible to find solutions that are equivalent or better with 1/30 of the trial count of conventional methods!
At Mazda Corporation's System Research Group, efforts are being made to standardize optimal structures that transcend vehicle types and classes based on the strategy of "Integrated Planning (Common Architecture)" introduced by the company in 2006. By utilizing black-box optimization with quantum annealing and Ising machines for the design of optimal structures across different vehicle types, we have successfully found solutions that are equivalent or better with only 1/30 of the number of trials compared to conventional methods. We spoke about the presentation of this initiative at the 2024 Automotive Engineering Society's Autumn Conference, the journey to success, and future developments. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links.
