Construction Case: Tamagawa River Upper Stream Water Regeneration Center Seismic Reinforcement Work. Mixing with on-site generated soil to reduce the load on underground structures! 9,176m3 of lightweight glass foam material used!
Lightweight glass foam material is a porous lightweight foamed material made from recycled waste glass, used in lightweight embankment construction. In the civil engineering and construction fields, it leverages its lightweight properties to reduce settlement in embankments and road level corrections on soft ground, alleviate wall pressure behind retaining walls, and lessen the load on underground structures. It can also be utilized as a mixed lightweight soil using excavated soil generated on-site. There are numerous delivery records, primarily in public works by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and various prefectural governments, including highways and private projects. Since lightweight glass foam material is made from waste glass bottles, it does not leach harmful substances, complies with soil environmental standards, and contributes to a recycling-oriented society. Lightweight glass foam material is an eco-mark product (17 131 006).
- The civil engineering type is a gravel-like porous body ranging from 2 to 75 mm.
- Easy construction using standard heavy machinery for compaction.
- Excellent drainage even during compaction.
- Lightweight and easy to handle, with no preparation curing period, allowing for shortened construction time.
- High flexibility on construction sites, making it possible to work even with distorted terrain and buried pipes. It can also accommodate large projects.
- Can be combined with other lightweight materials.
- Eco-mark product (17 131 006).
