Please be careful! The car air conditioning gas will be changed.

HFO-1234yf has been put into practical use as a gas to replace alternative refrigerants, and the switch has begun!

Currently, domestic cars use R134a as the refrigerant for car air conditioning, but due to the revision of the Fluorocarbon Emission Control Law, there are restrictions on the use of R134a gas. As an alternative refrigerant, HFO-1234yf has been developed and the switch has begun. Its features include a lower environmental impact compared to R134a and it does not contribute to global warming. The transition to HFO-1234yf has already been underway for European cars since 2017, and Japanese cars have started the full transition with new models from 2018. In the future, based on the revised Fluorocarbon Emission Control Law, a reduction of 10% in R134a usage vehicles is mandated from 2019 to 2023, 40% from 2024 to 2028, and 70% from 2029 to 2032. Therefore, the switch to HFO-1234yf in domestic cars will accelerate. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

3. What is carbon neutrality in the first place? What is required of companies?

Introducing information about carbon neutrality in a column! What is expected of companies?

Carbon neutral" refers to efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide, to effectively zero. As the impacts of climate change become more severe, countries around the world have set the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, and Japan also expressed this policy in 2020. Once considered a theme for some large corporations and environmental organizations, carbon neutrality has now become a management issue that companies of all industries and sizes must address. In particular, not only the manufacturing and logistics sectors but also service industries that consume a lot of energy are being called upon to respond to CO₂ reduction. Consumer awareness is also changing, with a growing tendency to choose environmentally friendly products and services. Furthermore, there is an increasing number of cases where business partners request "disclosure of environmental information" and "reporting of CO₂ emissions." In other words, carbon neutrality is not only about "environmental contribution" but also directly related to "enhancing corporate value" and "expanding business continuity." Now is the time to reassess your company's energy usage and CO₂ emissions and to start taking action from where you can. Carbon neutrality is not a "special initiative of advanced companies" but rather "the starting line for businesses.

6. Can we achieve decarbonization with LP gas?

Introducing information on carbon neutrality in a column! Can we achieve decarbonization with LP gas?

In an era where decarbonization is required, is LP gas considered an "environmentally harmful fuel"? In recent years, the LP gas industry has been advancing the introduction of "carbon-neutral LP gas," which effectively reduces CO₂ emissions to zero. This system offsets the CO₂ emissions generated during combustion with credits. By implementing this, existing LP gas facilities can maintain their operations while promoting themselves as "environmentally conscious companies." This is particularly effective for corporations in manufacturing and logistics that are required to reduce "Scope 1 (direct emissions)." It also serves as an effective means for various companies to reduce "Scope 3 (indirect emissions)." As interest in management and decarbonization grows, the introduction of carbon-neutral LP gas can lead to an increase in social credibility. This energy, which can balance environmental consideration with supply stability, will become a powerful option for sustainable business activities. A path is being opened to respond to environmental concerns while using LP gas, without falling behind the wave of decarbonization. Now is the time to consider the introduction of carbon-neutral LP gas and take a step forward in your company's decarbonization strategy.

10 Carbon Neutral LP Gas Implementation Cases: Reduction from 17.0t to 0t

Introducing case studies on carbon neutrality in a column! ~Case studies in the food and beverage retail sector~

We would like to introduce a case where an eating establishment in Saitama Prefecture switched to "Miraif Carbon Neutral LP Gas" for its hot water supply and cooking. Annual usage: 2,452㎥ Annual CO₂ emissions (due to LP gas usage): 17.0t This restaurant used 2,452㎥ of LP gas annually for hot water and cooking. The motivation for the switch was the desire to promote the restaurant's environmentally friendly initiatives, such as offering vegan menu items. With this implementation, we successfully reduced the annual CO₂ emissions from 17.0t to virtually 0t. While there may be uncertainty about what actions to take towards decarbonization, and a perception that such efforts are costly and cumbersome, interest in management and decarbonization is growing. The introduction of Miraif Carbon Neutral LP Gas can also enhance social credibility. A path is being opened to respond to environmental concerns while continuing to use LP gas, ensuring that we do not fall behind in the wave of decarbonization.

14 Carbon Neutral LP Gas Introduction Case Study: Reduction from 16.0t to 0t

14 Carbon Neutral LP Gas Introduction Case Study: Reduction from 16.0t to 0t

We would like to introduce a case where an elderly care facility located in Saitama and Chiba Prefectures switched to "Miraifu Carbon Neutral LP Gas" for cooking and hot water supply. Annual usage: 2,315㎥ Annual CO₂ emissions (due to LP gas usage): 16.0t This intermediate disposal company was using 2,315㎥ of LP gas annually for hot water and cooking. The impetus for the switch was their acquisition of ISO certification, and they were considering this as one of their initiatives. With this introduction, they successfully reduced their annual CO₂ emissions from 16.0t to effectively 0t. ISO 14068-1 is an international standard that establishes principles, requirements, and guidelines for companies and organizations to achieve carbon neutrality. Carbon neutral gas can be utilized as one means of reducing emissions within that framework. Companies can make efforts to reduce their emissions based on the principles of ISO 14068-1 and can achieve carbon neutrality by offsetting the portions that cannot be reduced with carbon neutral gas or other offsets.

Characteristics of gas

One of the most commonly used heat sources! Unlike kerosene (heavy oil), it burns completely, and the combustion gases are extremely clean.

On this homepage, we introduce the features of the heat source 'Gas' for dryers. Our product utilizes combustible gas as a heat source instead of kerosene or heavy oil. This is one of the widely used heat sources. In particular, propane gas (LPG) and city gas (LNG) are commonly used, and like oil, it requires chimney construction. Unlike kerosene (heavy oil), it burns completely, so the combustion gases are extremely clean. Additionally, it is equipped with safety devices that exceed those of oil burners. Please take a look at our homepage. 【Features】 ■ Utilizes combustible gas as a heat source ■ One of the widely used heat sources ■ Propane gas (LPG) and city gas (LNG) are mainstream ■ Burns completely unlike kerosene (heavy oil) ■ Combustion gases are extremely clean *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

5. What is a "credit" for carbon neutrality?

Introducing information about carbon neutrality in a column! What is the difference between "compliance credits" and "voluntary credits"?

One area of focus for companies aiming for carbon neutrality is "carbon credits," isn't it? These credits can be broadly divided into two types: "compliance credits" (such as J-Credits) and "voluntary credits." First, "voluntary credits" are utilized for companies' voluntary initiatives and are generated from projects around the world, such as forest conservation and the introduction of renewable energy. They are issued based on international standards and are effective for enhancing brand value and engaging in transactions with global companies. On the other hand, if reliability within Japan is a priority, then "compliance credits" are the way to go. This system is operated by the Japanese government and converts the reduction or absorption of CO₂ through renewable energy and energy conservation into credits. The optimal method varies depending on the size, industry, and business content of the company. It is important to carefully consider the company's objectives and circumstances to formulate the most suitable "carbon neutrality strategy." At Mirai-F, we offer two types of credits: "compliance credits" that can be used for reporting CO₂ reduction amounts and emissions under the Climate Change Act, and "voluntary credits" for voluntary greenhouse gas initiatives. We provide proposals to help our customers achieve energy decarbonization.
