Traditionally, OPP sheets were cut manually with a cutter, but as the number of processing facilities has decreased, there were concerns about not being able to place orders in the future. Therefore, there was a consultation about whether it could be processed by machine. Since there was a track record of processing sheets, I thought there would be no problem. However, the cut surface from a cutter and the one melted with a hot blade would differ, so in order to get as close as possible to the cutter's finish, we carefully selected the temperature and the hot blade, resulting in a product that satisfied the client. Furthermore, regarding delivery times, processing by machine resulted in quicker finishes, eliminating any waiting time. When manufacturing bags, we sometimes add crease lines to the sealing area, and today we would like to introduce bags with crease lines. We received a request from a customer who said, "I want to make sure the sealing area is folded neatly when folding it twice." Typically, the sealing area is folded once (Photo A). However, there are cases where, as per the customer's request, the sealing area is folded twice (Photo B). Without crease lines, there are several issues: - Different people may fold at different positions. - It can be difficult to fold straight, resulting in a diagonal fold. - It takes time to fold. - It may not align well with the glue position. With crease lines, the folding position is determined, making it easier to fold, and ensuring that the second fold aligns perfectly with the glue position. This also helps reduce the effort required for the task and shortens the time needed, leading to improved work efficiency. The customer's request was, "I would like an OPP bag to hold a product with a height of 700mm and a width of 400mm. It is a larger size; is it possible to order?" We confirmed that we could manufacture the bag and discussed the bag size, leading to the order. The sizes we often receive orders for are typically up to a height of 650mm and a width of 500mm, but we have equipped ourselves to handle bag manufacturing for sizes larger than that. Additionally, since this order involved a relatively large-sized product, we decided to use a laminated film made of OPP and CPP films. There are various types of films used for bag-making, and this time we would like to introduce a bag-making case using matte film. We received a request from a customer stating, "We want to improve the visibility of products displayed outdoors, as sunlight makes them difficult to see due to reflections." While regular OPP film enhances the appearance of products due to its high transparency, this transparency also makes light reflections more noticeable. In response to the customer's request, we decided to use a matte film, which is different from regular films. Matte film, also known as non-gloss film, helps to soften light reflections and significantly improves product visibility. However, it should be noted that it does not completely eliminate reflections. Additionally, matte film has a calm atmosphere and offers a more luxurious feel compared to regular films. In this case, we used OPP matte film alone, but it is also possible to laminate it with CPP film for bag-making. This time, we would like to introduce a case study of a bag with corner cutting processing applied to the flap part. In sealing operations, there are methods that use glue on the flap part and those that use tape such as cellophane tape. 1. When sealing with glue for products of a certain thickness: If the flap part shifts even slightly from the main body of the bag, the glue may protrude from the bag and stick to other products. 2. When sealing with cellophane tape for products of a certain thickness: If the tape is not applied all the way to the edges, it may peel up, resulting in an unsightly appearance. (Applying tape to the edges increases the width of tape used and makes it more cumbersome to remove.) The solution to the above issues is "corner cutting processing." For point 1, even if the seal shifts slightly from a straight position, it can prevent the flap part from protruding from the main body of the bag. For point 2, it reduces excess material, minimizes the width of the tape used, and allows for a neat seal. We addressed the weaknesses of the laminate processing by reinforcing the sides with seal support.

The lamination process involves bonding OPP film and CPP film together. It is common to use OPP film, which has good ink adhesion and high moisture resistance on the outside, and CPP film, which has high heat sealability and abrasion resistance on the inside. This time, the customer requested OPCP laminated bags. However, we heard that when they previously had bags made, the seal strength was weak, and the sides of the bag's opening were very prone to tearing. The reason for this is that during the lamination process, the tension applied by the machine when bonding the films and the way the adhesive adheres can create slight differences in adhesion at different locations. As a result, when the film is placed on the bag-making machine, the edges can open up, leading to issues with proper sealing on the sides. To address this problem, we utilized a "reinforcement seal." When applying the reinforcement seal, we took care to: - Ensure that the temperature is not too high to avoid deforming the bag. - Minimize any residual marks from the reinforcement on the bag. To consider these two points, we made sure to manage the temperature during the process. The issue was successfully resolved, and the customer was satisfied!
