Waterproof/Dustproof Designed for various indoor and outdoor applications and installations, it complies with IP56 (excluding the connector part). [Achievements] Development of Antennas for Automotive Millimeter-Wave Radar

To meet the increasing demand for applications such as autonomous driving, we will continue to develop smaller and higher-performance new products.

We received a request from a major manufacturer to develop an antenna for millimeter-wave radar that is compatible with a newly developed IC. To achieve maximum gain performance within the requested size, we proposed and developed vehicle-mounted millimeter-wave radar antennas tailored to the distance: a lens type for long-range applications and a patch type for short-range applications. Subsequently, this vehicle-mounted millimeter-wave radar was exhibited at an international trade show in early 2018, and our antennas were also displayed alongside it. [Achievements] Commercialization of Millimeter-Wave Antennas for Large-Capacity Data Transmission

We received an inquiry from a major manufacturer regarding the consideration and development of a compact and lightweight millimeter-wave antenna for base stations that supports the 71-76GHz and 81-86GHz (E-Band) frequency bands, as well as the establishment of a system capable of supplying a substantial quantity. We anticipate that the demand for products compatible with the millimeter-wave frequency band will increase, so we promptly introduced equipment and, at times, sought cooperation from external organizations for development and commercialization. [Development Case] Multi-Band Antenna

We will introduce a case that achieved low VSWR over a wide bandwidth in the high frequency band.

We would like to introduce a case where we developed a "multi-band antenna." In the frequency range of 300 MHz to 6 GHz, we divided it into 5 bands as needed, achieving vertical polarization with omnidirectionality in the horizontal plane and a VSWR of less than 3.5 for each band. As a solution, we used a shortened dipole antenna element for the low-frequency band and a biconical antenna element for the high-frequency band, allowing us to share a single input terminal through a central feeding hybrid configuration. We will introduce a case where a larger RCS was secured than that of a movable corner reflector.

We would like to introduce a case study of the development of our "Portable ARC." As background, radars mounted on satellites and aircraft require adjustments using ARC, and since satellites and aircraft do not remain in a fixed location, there was a demand for a portable ARC that allows for easy movement and high flexibility in radar adjustments. Introducing a case where a Ka-band antenna was successfully reduced to a weight of less than 35g.

We would like to introduce a case where we developed an "ultra-small satellite-mounted antenna." We received a request to develop an ultra-small antenna for use in a 6U-sized CubeSat, with the background of wanting to further miniaturize the X-band antenna developed for the small satellites "Hodoyoshi" and "Procyon" to be mounted on a 6U-sized ultra-small satellite. As a solution, for the X-band antenna, we innovated the shape and structure of the antenna itself to control directivity and gain, while for the Ka-band antenna, we incorporated material selection and structural innovations to achieve both strength and electrical performance.
