Since concrete components are produced in factories, quality is stable, and various performance requirements for exterior walls can be easily met. As a measure to prevent global warming, there has been a growing demand for the construction of energy-efficient buildings that incorporate advanced heat load reduction technologies in recent years. One effective energy-saving measure in building air conditioning is to use materials with high insulation properties, such as concrete, for the exterior, while also incorporating sun shading features like louvers and overhangs. By placing sun shading features that block sunlight during the high solar altitude of summer and capture solar heat during the low solar altitude of winter, the annual heat load coefficient (PAL*) can be reduced. We propose a canopy-type PC curtain wall as a highly environmentally efficient exterior material with high insulation and sun shading capabilities.
