One effective energy-saving measure in building air conditioning is to use materials with high insulation properties, such as concrete, for the exterior, while also incorporating sun shading features like louvers and overhangs. By placing sun shading features that block sunlight during the high solar altitude of summer and capture solar heat during the low solar altitude of winter, the annual heat load coefficient (PAL*) can be reduced.
