This is an introduction to a case study of a mega-solar power generation project by a local venture company in Fukushima Prefecture. It is recognized as the first certified project under the Kawauchi Village Reconstruction Development Plan (Reconstruction Agency) and has been certified for the fiscal year 2014 by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for the promotion of the introduction of renewable energy power generation facilities. With the adoption of the "Half Agriculture, Half Energy Model Promotion Project Subsidy," a portion of the profits from selling electricity was utilized to create the "Kaeru Kawauchi Reconstruction Support Bus" project. This initiative promoted the expansion of living conditions for returnees and accelerated the return of villagers. G&ECO Co., Ltd., Nagata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Resilience Lab Co., Ltd. have launched the "Bousai Power Generation BOX," which combines a generator, storage battery, and solar panel. This product not only serves our own "power outage measures" but also acts as a "community disaster charging station," allowing us to contribute to the region by providing power supply during disasters. The "Noto Peninsula Earthquake of Reiwa Year 6," which struck the Noto Peninsula on January 1, 2024, caused significant damage. Our company has been engaged in support activities, albeit modestly, by providing generators in collaboration with local governments in the affected areas. With various supplies in short supply, roads have been cut off in many places, and recovery from power outages is taking time. Moreover, we have witnessed cases where generators are unable to operate due to a lack of fuel, even though they are available and gasoline-powered. The limited passable roads are not only routes for supplies but also for emergency vehicles, making the supply of relief goods challenging. This has reinforced the importance of being prepared in advance. We would be very pleased if we could contribute to the safety and security of your daily life through everyday preparedness.
