We spoke with Kunimoto Industrial Co., Ltd. about the purpose and effects of introducing solar power generation and battery storage systems at their Hamakita factory. The systems were implemented with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions during normal times, improving business continuity during power outages, and striving to support the local community during emergencies or disasters. Power generation began in December 2021, and within six months, they generated 280,852 kWh. The effect of reducing greenhouse gas emissions is approximately a reduction of 114 tons of CO2 per kWh.
