Thick-walled molding is one of the methods of resin injection molding and is a technology used for applications such as lenses that take advantage of the product's wall thickness. However, in conventional thick-walled molding, there were issues such as sink marks and voids (bubbles) that needed to be addressed by slowing down the injection speed and extending the cooling time, which resulted in longer molding cycles. As a result, thick-walled molded products tend to be more expensive.
