In order to establish image processing technology applicable to cases that have been difficult until now, we will introduce a case using the Sony IMX477 sensor. This sensor allows for the acquisition of 4K-sized images, and when used for license plate recognition, it offers significant advantages such as the ability to monitor four lanes simultaneously. Our company, which develops image processing systems utilizing AI, has participated in the "Smart Ferry Development Project," part of the unmanned vessel project "MEGURI2040" promoted by the Nippon Foundation. In the demonstration experiment for the unmanned operation of large car ferries, our company was responsible for developing a cargo image analysis system using AI technology that enables detection of other vessels even at night with infrared cameras. By combining object detection from infrared camera footage with hull posture detection using high-precision GPS and accelerometers, we performed positioning of detected objects (distance, speed, heading).
