We conducted a preliminary consultation and tests, confirming that if the deodorization efficiency did not exceed 90%, odors would disperse into the surrounding residential area. The odors were a mixture of sulfur compounds from the eggs and burnt smells generated during the cooking process in the kiln. Currently, there are no odor complaints in the surrounding area, and the regulatory values are being met, with the existing deodorization system operating effectively. However, in order to implement further measures, there was a desire to install a new deodorization system downstream of the existing one. Without conducting preliminary verification tests or consultations, we selected a duct spray system based on the odor characteristics and exhaust air volume. Our company, which has tackled odor control measures for various factories, will introduce some case studies. 【Indoor Odor Control Measures for an Aluminum Parts Processing Factory】 ■Background We received a consultation regarding the need for odor control measures for the odors generated during the softening process of aluminum parts in a tempering furnace, which were dispersing throughout the factory and affecting employees and visitors. Since the temperature of the odors emitted from the tempering furnace is high and there had been no previous odor measurements, we first proposed conducting odor measurements, which revealed that the odor concentration exceeded 10,000 in its original state. Due to the disruption of air balance, the client requested a system that would circulate the air indoors rather than exhaust it outdoors. Upon checking the existing equipment, it was found that exhaust odors were being mixed with dilution air for exhaust. While this method could dilute the exhaust odors and reduce them, it still did not eliminate the odors completely, leading to complaints from the surrounding area.
