Do you need a license to operate a reach stacker?
Introducing a blog that explains whether a license is required to operate a reach stacker!
According to the JIS standards, which are one of Japan's national standards, the definition of a forklift is "a device equipped with a mast that raises and lowers forks, etc." In this regard, reach stackers, which do not have a mast, are not classified as forklifts. Therefore, operating a reach stacker does not require a forklift license (completion of driving skills training) like a top lifter does. The JIS standards do not classify reach stackers as mobile cranes either, and currently, they are not categorized under any cargo handling equipment. *For more details, you can view the related links on the blog.
