Logistics 2024 Problem: Impacts and Responses ~ What should we do now to address the decline in transportation capacity? ~ The Logistics 2024 Problem refers to the various disruptions occurring throughout the supply chain due to the decline in truck transportation capacity caused by regulations such as the setting of limits on drivers' overtime work. With the decrease in transportation capacity, it is expected that delivery lead times will increase and delivery costs will rise. One countermeasure is the establishment of new relay centers or logistics centers to shorten delivery distances. However, increasing storage locations will complicate and elevate the sophistication of inventory management. This means that relying on human experience, intuition, and Excel for aggregation has its limits, necessitating new responses. In this seminar, we will introduce a solution from Fairway Solutions, which has extensive experience in implementing inventory optimization solutions, that suggests quantities and timing for production, procurement, and replenishment. Additionally, we will present our solution for optimally loading the determined goods onto trucks and containers, including real-world examples.
