Optical film light transmission characteristics
At Aites Co., Ltd., we conduct "optical film analysis." Optical films used in smartphones and other devices have various functions depending on their structure and materials. We measured the light transmittance of privacy protection films at different angles and combined cross-sectional observation with Raman analysis to investigate the mechanism of function manifestation. By investigating the transmittance characteristics of privacy protection films using angle-variable spectrophotometry, we were able to analyze the mechanism of function manifestation through cross-sectional observation and Raman analysis. At Aites, we provide consistent evaluation and analysis from material properties to the mechanisms of function manifestation.

In the monthly magazine "Coating Technology," in response to the growing social need for infrastructure maintenance, a special feature titled "Trends and Future Outlook for Repair and Renovation of Social Infrastructure" was published in the May 2022 issue, followed by "Continued Trends and Future Outlook for Repair and Renovation of Social Infrastructure" in the June issue, focusing on the maintenance and repair of bridges and highways, which received a significant response. Additionally, the August issue featured a special on "The Role and Future Outlook of Paints and Coatings in the Maritime Industry," highlighting the importance of film quality management in on-site painting. Cotec had started a short series on "Measurement and Inspection Guidebook for On-Site Painting" from the May issue of the same year, but in response to the strong feedback from the aforementioned features, the series was expanded to seven installments. (Shinjuku, Tokyo), which operates the IoT platform "M2MSTREAM," will begin providing a cloud-based indoor ventilation monitoring system that visualizes the ventilation status of enclosed spaces where people gather by continuously monitoring carbon dioxide levels. 【Benefits of Implementation】 ■ As a measure against the COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential to thoroughly avoid the "three Cs" (closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings). Ensuring appropriate ventilation based on CO2 levels is crucial to prevent commercial facilities from being classified as "poorly ventilated enclosed spaces." ■ According to the air conditioning and hygiene engineering standards, the reference value for necessary ventilation in a room is approximately 30m³ per hour per person. By counting the number of people present using AI cameras, it becomes possible to estimate and secure the necessary ventilation volume based on occupancy density. ■ Low humidity can dry out the mucous membranes of the airways, weakening their ability to prevent bacterial infections. Humidity sensors can manage the lower limit of humidity levels. ■ By displaying air quality information in real-time on digital signage, it is possible to alert space users and alleviate their concerns.

We will introduce an example of the analysis of compounds formed at the interface between Sn-Ag-Cu solder and NiP pads. At the interface between the NiP pad and Sn-Ag-Cu solder, compounds such as (Ni,Cu)3Sn4 and (Cu,Ni)6Sn5 grow, and surface analysis using EDX reveals the distribution of Ni, Cu, and Sn within these compounds. The EBSD method is an analytical technique based on the crystallographic information of the sample. By combining it with elemental analysis using EDX, it is possible to estimate the composition, and in some cases, it may be feasible to analyze using the crystallographic data of Ni3Sn4 and Cu6Sn5 as substitutes.
