The Karen series is a liquefied low molecular weight butyl rubber that is not available from other companies. It imparts the properties of butyl rubber for various coating agents, sealants, and adhesive applications. Using Karen in the coating agent for the rigid polyurethane foam of the tank's insulation layer prevents hydrolysis of the polyurethane foam and extends the lifespan of the insulation layer.
