One method to prevent misdirected FAX transmissions is the use of speed dial operations. However, since the speed dial registered in the FAX must always correspond to a recipient's FAX and can be sent with simple operations, it is difficult to notice a mistake in pressing the speed dial. This raises concerns that the damage caused by pressing the wrong speed dial could be far greater than that caused by dialing the wrong phone number. For example, one might accidentally press the speed dial button for Company B instead of sending a FAX intended for Company A. Additionally, in environments where a zero prefix is required, it is common to send without dialing "0" at the beginning. In methods where the FAX destination is dialed each time, forgetting the "0" for outside line access or mistakenly pressing the wrong dial can also lead to misdirected transmissions. TeleGuard prevents misdirected transmissions by displaying the destination on an authentication PC during FAX sending, requiring authentication before allowing the FAX to be sent. By placing the authentication PC on the LAN, it is possible to separate the FAX operator from the authenticator, clearly defining roles during FAX transmission.
