Since Nord-Lock washers do not rely on friction, their effectiveness is not diminished by the application of lubricants. Lubricants are important in reducing friction during assembly. With less friction, the torque required for the appropriate tightening force is also reduced. Nord-Lock is an ideal product for machinery that requires regular maintenance checks. By using Nord-Lock, bolts can be easily loosened with standard tools, lubricants can be applied to the components before reassembly, and the washers can be reused.
