We have newly developed a technology that can process dioxins in fly ash at room temperature, in a short time, and at low cost. The EGZ method involves adding 7% of a granulation zeolite agent, Solid Encloser, to the fly ash, and then adding 30% of the ettringite accelerator E Solid to the moisture-adjusted fly ash, which, when stirred, becomes a granulated zeolite structure. Zeolites are known for their excellent ability to decompose dioxins. Fly ash contains a high amount of calcium, and by adding the ettringite accelerator E Solid with adjusted component ratios, a strong ettringite structure is formed during the granulation and solidification process. Ettringite has the property of encapsulating heavy metals and decomposing dioxins during the crystallization process of inorganic minerals. In some cases, cement may also be used.

The EGZ method is already being used in incineration facilities in the Chubu region. The concentration of dioxins in the ash, which was 3.6 ng-TEQ/g, was reduced to 1.7 ng-TEQ/g with a decomposition rate of 53% after just 5 minutes of stirring and 1 day of curing using the EGZ method. We also provide consulting services for the decomposition treatment of dioxins in ash.
