[Case Study of 10 Gigabit L3 Switch Implementation] Architectural Materials Research Corporation
Utilizing existing optical wiring to achieve 10 gigabits: A network supporting storage for video production editing.
The company Kenchiku Shiryo Kenkyusha, which operates the qualification school "Nikken Academy," distributes lecture videos produced in its own studio to Nikken Academies nationwide. In refreshing its video editing storage, the company also rebuilt its network infrastructure. For the server switch, it adopted D-Link's 10G stackable switch "DXS-3410" series. Two models, the "DXS-3410-32XY" with metal ports and the "DXS-3410-32SY" with optical slots, were stacked to create redundancy in the server pathways. The existing optical fiber was utilized as is. <POINT> 1. Stacked two models with different port configurations to create redundancy in server pathways. 2. Utilized existing optical fiber to reduce rewiring and costs. 3. Achieved faster transfer speeds with 10G, enabling stable simultaneous work from multiple PCs.
