The permeator is a calibration gas preparation device that generates gas from permeation tubes and diffusion tubes. By maintaining the permeation and diffusion tubes at a constant temperature, the amount of permeation and evaporation diffusion becomes constant. Therefore, by keeping both tubes at a constant temperature and supplying a constant flow of dilution gas such as air or nitrogen, calibration gas with trace concentrations is continuously generated. This preparation method is highly reliable for determining gas concentration based on the fundamental physical measurements of permeation rate (from the permeation tube), diffusion rate (from the diffusion tube), and the amount of dilution gas obtained through the gravimetric method.
