Case Study of PCa Implementation for Non-Structural Decorative Column Component "Marion"
Marion PC
Achieving a hollowing method that addresses the issue of design weight exceeding the rated load of on-site lifting equipment while minimizing cost increases and not affecting the manufacturing process! Introducing case studies.
The "Marion PC" is a non-structural decorative column component used on balconies and similar areas. Various finishes are required for this component, and we propose solutions for precasting (PCa) by leveraging the technology we have cultivated over many years. In this case study, it was found that the initial design weight of the Marion exceeded the rated load of the on-site lifting equipment when transitioning to PCa. Therefore, reducing weight became an essential challenge to continue using PCa. We considered a hollowing method that would not impact the manufacturing process while keeping cost increases in check. We adopted a method of embedding inexpensive "winding pipes" as void materials to reduce the amount of concrete fill. This resulted in significant weight reduction and cost control, achieving the planned lifting and construction as intended. [Features] - Contributes to high quality, cost reduction, and shortened construction time - Appropriately precasts conventional methods - Achieves significant weight reduction and cost control Feel free to leave proposals such as drawings to us. basic information
What is a marion? In architectural terms, a "marion" refers to a "vertical member" that divides windows or openings vertically. It does not directly support the load of the building but serves a supportive role for panels, glass, etc., and also contributes to the design by emphasizing vertical lines in the exterior appearance. *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us.*
