New collection of Kozo washi wallpaper "KOZO 6" has arrived.
The KOZO collection started in 1988 with the desire to introduce Japan's proud washi paper as wallpaper to people, and to pass on the culture, traditions, and beauty of Japanese washi to future generations. Using kozo (paper mulberry), which can be harvested in winter before the leaves fall, is environmentally friendly, and the washi wallpaper, which becomes more beautiful over time, is one of the very important options in today's world where the necessity for a sustainable circular society is being questioned globally. The sixth piece, "KOZO 6," aims to discover and communicate the new charm of washi, returning to the origins to pursue the potential of the material itself. It begins with a reevaluation of the latent capabilities of washi and techniques that have been somewhat avoided until now, resulting in an exquisite original collection that we want to share with the world. "Kenpyou" (Hard Ice) Inspired by the frost that signals the arrival of winter and the solemn nights of the harsh winter, it captures the appearance of lines on a wide lake surface covered with thick ice. By using large sheets of washi measuring 46cm × 92cm, it brings the grandeur of nature's beauty into the space.
