Compared to alcohol disinfection, ultraviolet disinfection can sterilize the entire surface of complex-shaped objects simply by exposing them to light. Ultraviolet light in the UV-B range around 310 nm is used in medical applications such as skin treatment and in preventing diseases in agricultural products. Additionally, ultraviolet light in the UV-A range of 350 to 400 nm is utilized for UV resin curing and processing, UV bonding, fast-drying printing and painting, and coatings.

It is possible to perform non-contact sterilization of food, water, and spaces within a controlled light environment, which can be utilized for optimizing processes in plant factories and aquaculture. Two types of wavelength selection are available. Intensity adjustment and irradiation area adjustment can be made. When using containers like well plates, it is possible to increase the intensity of irradiation for samples with a diameter of φ30 to φ100.
