A case of renovation work on the exterior wall tiles of Building No. 1 at the University of Tokyo's Institute of Medical Science. Achieved waterproofing and protection of the tile joints without compromising the texture of the exterior wall tiles.
We would like to introduce a case study of the super water-repellent agent "S-Crete Guard," which is primarily composed of nano-particle silane and siloxane. We carried out renovation work on the exterior wall tiles of the "Tokyo University Institute of Medical Science Building No. 1," a historical cultural property that has been standing for over 70 years. S-Crete Guard was chosen as it allows for waterproofing and protection of the tile joints without compromising the texture of the exterior wall tiles. S-Crete Guard was applied to the entire surface of the exterior wall tiles, restoring the aesthetic without damaging the tile's texture. **Main Features of S-Crete Guard:** - Waterproof protection for tile joints for over 10 years (5-year waterproof guarantee) - Completely preserves the texture of the tiles while stopping indoor water leaks - Can be applied in environments as low as -20°C *For more details, please download the catalog or feel free to contact us.*

The name of our company, Barks Environment, is derived from the initials BIRC (Best Insulation Remake Concrete Supply). Its meaning refers to the best insulation (external insulation) and the regeneration (modification and protection) of concrete for buildings. Our company aims to contribute to society by striving for energy efficiency, comfort, and high durability in buildings, as well as achieving the modification, protection, and longevity of concrete. There have been incidents where exterior wall tiles from condominiums have fallen, resulting in fatalities. We live in a state of uncertainty, not knowing when we might be involved in such accidents. Upon reflection, this is a very frightening situation. In the absence of any maintenance, reinforced concrete structures have a lifespan of only 30 to 40 years. To avoid such situations, our main business focuses on the modification and improvement of concrete, prevention of deterioration, and enhancement of durability.
