Transforming 'abandoned places' back into 'gathering places'!
The Chausuyama Skate Park has been completed in Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture! The site of the former "Old Chausuyama Citizen Pool" has been redeveloped! We proposed various sections, and unfortunately, the "Seal Hard Skate Park specifications" were not adopted due to budget constraints, but a park that retains the essence of the original pool has been born! At the opening ceremony, many people, from children to adults, gathered and it was a great success, with comments like, "I was surprised that that pool became a skate park!" and "It's a fun park that can be enjoyed by beginners and advanced skaters alike!" I felt that redeveloping unused facilities into completely different types of facilities is a good way to utilize land, rather than leaving them as they are. As the number of unused facilities and closed schools increases, I hope to create more places that attract people again.
