The world's first DIY manufacturer was born in Ishinomaki in 2011. Simple, functional, and endearing design. The main reason for this is the constraints of materials and techniques arising from the disaster, as well as the design approach. Due to the necessity immediately after the disaster, materials primarily used are red cedar based on the "2x" standard, represented by 2x4 lumber.
