Establish a scheme to credit environmental value and create a positive cycle between the environment and the economy!
The city of Ena declared itself a Zero Carbon City in March 2022 and was selected as an "SDGs Future City" in May of the same year, leading efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a city, we aim to establish a mechanism for the circulation of the economy and resources within the region, striving to create a self-sufficient and sustainable community. Our main objectives include promoting the introduction of locally produced energy and ensuring the resilience of the community during disasters. To achieve this, we are collaborating with NGK Insulators and Chubu Electric Power Miraiz to participate in Ena Electric Power. Since its establishment, we have been able to implement zero-carbon events by using locally produced energy and strengthening disaster prevention capabilities through the construction of regional microgrids powered by solar energy.
