Applicable Range The investigation depth is for ground where dynamic cone penetration is possible. As a guideline, when using the large dynamic cone penetration test: approximately 20m depth, and when using the small dynamic cone penetration test: approximately 10m depth. 2. Particularly Effective Application Range - Improved ground where quality evaluation by unconfined compressive tests is difficult due to the presence of gravel, shells, wood chips, fine particles, etc. in chemical injection work. - Improved ground where it is difficult to achieve improvement effects, such as humus soil and highly plastic clay, in cement-based ground improvement works like deep mixing treatment and soft ground treatment. - Investigation in narrow areas where boring core sampling is impossible and in facilities that are in use. 3. Non-Applicable Range - Ground where penetration impact becomes difficult in dynamic cone penetration tests (Small Dynamic Cone Penetration Test: Nd value ≧ 50, Large Dynamic Cone Penetration Test: Nd value ≧ 100). - Sandy ground with a pore water salinity concentration of 5,000 ppm or more in effect determination by resistivity in chemical injection methods. - Estimation of improvement strength and improvement range by resistivity in cement-based improvement targeting clayey soil.

The Geo-Register method is a composite investigation technique that conducts dynamic cone penetration tests and electrical resistivity surveys at the same borehole. By using the Nd value obtained from the dynamic cone and the electrical resistivity ratio R obtained from the electrical resistivity survey, it is possible to clearly capture the improvement range of ground improvement methods such as chemical grouting and to properly evaluate the ground improvement strength in situ. It can also be used for general liquefaction investigations.
