We would like to introduce a case where we conducted a proof of concept (POC) for a congestion detection system at station platforms in metropolitan areas in collaboration with a certain railway group company. The company faced safety issues due to congestion on platforms during peak commuting and school hours, necessitating rapid understanding and response to congestion. The purpose of the POC was to verify the feasibility of a system that can detect congested areas on station platforms in real-time and notify that data to a higher-level system, enabling swift responses.
