This product is a triangular scale that allows for the identification of sound distance attenuation (geometric diffusion) in a semi-free space on a drawing. By setting the acoustic power level (PWL) of the sound source and using this product on the drawing, simple predictions of sound pressure levels can be made. * When predicting using sound pressure level (SPL), subtract 8dB from the distance attenuation (semi-free space). * In the case of 1/4 free space (when there is a wall behind the sound source), subtract 3dB from the distance attenuation. * In the case of 1/8 free space (when there are walls behind and to the side of the sound source), subtract 6dB from the distance attenuation. * It represents the distance attenuation (geometric diffusion) of omnidirectional sound. * Distance attenuation formula: PWL - 20LOG10(distance [m]) - 8 * Other environmental factors such as terrain, buildings, wind direction, and humidity cannot be predicted.
