We would like to introduce a case study of the automatic sex determination machine "CaniScan," which has successfully led to reductions in time and costs while maintaining marine biological protection. From the perspective of marine biological protection, it is necessary to release crabs that are below a certain size or are female when shipping edible crabs. The determination of sex in a large number of crabs, which is particularly difficult, was previously done manually, resulting in high time and monetary costs. By introducing our product that automatically determines the sex of crabs using AI, we contributed to shortening the time from capture to shipment. Additionally, we achieved long-term monitoring of marine resources through the data collection of sex and size in the target sea area.
