Thermal cameras measure the surface temperature of objects non-contact and display that information as thermal images. In harsh weather conditions (fog, rain, snow) or lighting conditions (complete darkness, backlight), it is difficult to identify people or objects within a complex background using cameras or the human eye. By visualizing the temperature differences between the subject and the background, it becomes possible to identify objects that are not visible to the naked eye.
