YubiKey is one of the "security keys (hardware tokens)" that can be used for the highest level of security in multi-factor authentication. The basic way to use a YubiKey is simply to plug it into a USB port and touch it. It can be used on various operating systems without the need for dedicated software or drivers. The number of supported services is increasing year by year, and it is gaining attention as a next-generation security solution. Manufactured by Yubico, based in the United States and Sweden, YubiKey supports the latest protocols such as FIDO2 as well as traditional authentication protocols like TOTP, enabling strong two-factor authentication, multi-factor authentication, and passwordless authentication with a single tap.
