basic information
The standard temperature measurement resistance CTP5000-T25 is a primary standard designed based on several years of collaborative research and validation testing with the UK National Physical Laboratory. This product is a 4-wire SPRT, designed to comply with the International Temperature Scale ITS-90 over a temperature range of -196 … +660 °C, and is calibrated to the melting point of aluminum at 660.323 °C. The temperature sensing element is made with a platinum coil and is protected by a sheath that is resistant to stress. By using a material that replaces the quartz silica used in the old model, measures against contamination by impurities are no longer necessary. The sheath is entirely welded, and the four lead wires are sealed from the probe head. This prevents temperature effects caused by gaps between the elements. Each lead wire is made of specially designed copper, with one connected to the temperature sensing resistance via a low-loss contact, while the other is drawn out from the sealed head. The cable is made of insulated PTFE, minimizing electromagnetic losses. This allows it to be used in both AC and DC temperature measurement systems.
