Titanium photocatalytic material "Titanistar(R)" *Oxidative decomposition ability and hydrophilicity
Conducting demonstration tests of photocatalytic capabilities! Introducing oxidation decomposition ability and superhydrophilicity.
In general, photocatalysts have the ability to oxidatively decompose organic substances and harmful materials, rendering them harmless. It is said that hydrophilicity occurs on the surface of the photocatalyst in an excited state. We conducted verification tests on these photocatalytic capabilities. - Oxidative Decomposition Ability We treated non-woven pure titanium, a substrate made of pure titanium cut into 100mm squares, with gas-type Titanister. After sealing it in a Tedlar bag with approximately 250ppm of acetaldehyde gas and reaching adsorption equilibrium, we irradiated it from above with a 1mW/cm² BLB lamp, measuring the concentration of acetaldehyde gas and the concentration of the reaction product, carbon dioxide, at regular intervals. As the concentration of acetaldehyde gas decreased due to Titanister, the concentration of carbon dioxide, the reaction product, increased. Ultimately, it was found that approximately 230ppm of acetaldehyde gas was almost completely decomposed, and a quantity of reaction replicable substances equivalent to twice the concentration of acetaldehyde gas was produced. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

basic information
- Super Hydrophilicity A pure titanium plate measuring 100mm on each side was treated with Titanistar, and a BLB lamp emitting 1mW/cm² was irradiated from above. Water droplets were applied at regular intervals, and the hydrophilicity was verified by measuring the contact angle of water. Immediately after UV irradiation, an extremely high level of hydrophilicity was observed, making it impossible to measure the contact angle, and the UV irradiation was stopped after 50 hours. Subsequently, the contact angle of water gradually increased, and UV irradiation was resumed at 170 hours after the initial treatment. Immediately after the irradiation, the contact angle decreased, and a state with almost no contact angle persisted. This high level of hydrophilicity continued under UV irradiation until 190 hours after the start, indicating the presence of super hydrophilicity. Both the oxidative decomposition capability test and the hydrophilicity test demonstrated a high photocatalytic ability. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
