CRDS Moisture Meter - Principle of the Tiger Optics Series
Laser light is directed into a stainless steel cavity equipped with high-reflectivity mirrors at both ends. The light then bounces back and forth, traveling hundreds of kilometers in less than one millisecond. After raising the light to a predetermined threshold, it is cut off, and the time it takes for the light intensity to disappear (ring-down) is measured. The time is inversely proportional to the presence of molecules in the sample, allowing us to read the moisture content from that. Moisture content is detected from the difference in time between Tzero and Tpeak on the graph created. For more details on the principle of the CRDS moisture meter, please refer to the URL below.
