Digital Compass for Equatorial Mount POLE FINDER NS-10 GPS - Smooth polar axis alignment even in dark places without seeing the North Star.
This is an electronic compass that supports the alignment of the polar axis of a portable equatorial mount during celestial observation and photography. It has a built-in 9-axis sensor, allowing for easy and quick setting of the polar axis (towards Polaris) at the configured latitude. By using the included GPS module, it can automatically set the magnetic declination and latitude information for the location of use. (The automatically set magnetic declination value is only valid within Japan; manual setting is required overseas.) It is suitable for relatively short exposure astrophotography of star fields and constellations. For long exposures or photography with long focal length lenses, precise adjustments using a polar alignment telescope or similar tools are necessary. The magnetic declination values are based on the information published by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan in 2020.

Applications/Examples of results
Easy polar alignment in the Southern Hemisphere (latitude -80° to +80°) - Expanded latitude range from the current product NS-10 mkII - Automatic setting of magnetic declination and latitude with GPS module - The main unit is lightweight and compact, weighing 35g and measuring 5cm square. - It can be mounted between a handheld equatorial mount and a tripod using the included fixing plate. - The built-in semiconductor 9-axis sensor allows for instant alignment to the polar axis direction. - The backlit LCD display enables smooth polar alignment even in dark places. * The magnetic declination values are based on publicly available information from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan in 2020. * Additional processing such as drilling holes in the fixing plate may be required depending on the type of equatorial mount. * Please comply with local radio laws and regulations when used overseas. (Bluetooth wireless communication used) * Two USB type-C cables for charging are included, one for the NS-10 GPS main unit and one for the GPS module (controller), but they are generic cables and indistinguishable. Both cables can be used with the NS-10 main unit and the GPS module.

Company information
In 2021, we became an independent entity within the Kernel Group as Kernel Hard Engineering Co., Ltd. to develop our own brand of system products, including hardware. The Kernel Concept, which serves as the foundation of the Kernel Group, was established in 1985. Under close relationships with local manufacturing industries, we have been involved in the development of embedded software and have continued to grow as a mid-sized independent IT company in the Chubu region, one of Japan's manufacturing hubs. The various systems produced from the technical, organizational, and human resources we have cultivated over our more than 35 years of history are highly regarded for their quality. With a natural expansion of technological connections, we have also built a track record in the fields of FA, CAD/CAM/CAE, and in recent years, we have been actively involved in system development utilizing the web and cloud technologies. Currently, the entire Kernel Group has approximately 1,000 employees.
