From 1970 to 2020! A column introducing the history of our company and serving carts.
We will introduce the history of serving carts and Elektra, which has been making serving carts for 50 years. It may be difficult to clearly define the year when serving carts first appeared in Japan. This is because there were already carts being used as serving carts on-site before dedicated serving carts were introduced as products. These were the Elektra Shelves. The Elektra Shelf is a wire rack originally developed by a company called InterMetro in the United States. Elektra Co., Ltd. introduced it to Japan and has been involved in its development and manufacturing. In 1968, the "Super Elektra Shelf," which could be equipped with optional movable casters, was developed, leading to an increase in hospitals using it for serving purposes. *For more details on the column, please refer to the related links.
